“The Latest Research On Bilingualism And The Brain” on the Diane Rehm Show

I am a fan of NPR radio, I’ve listened to some of they podcasts and on their website this was featured under bilingualism. I had never heard of WAMU 88.5|American University Radio or The Diane Rehm Show . She did one on the bilingual brain. As you know there are researchers who say bilingualism is good for the brain and other who believe te opposite. I am bilingual thanks to my education and that my parents invested in me. Some don’t have this opportunity until later in lie or is imposed to them. We all have our story with language. My family is also bilingual in English and Spanish and we communicate on our first language (Spanish) at home. What is your story with language?

On this show she has guests discuss about the benefits of bilingualism, these are:

  • Ellen Bialystok distinguished research professor of psychology at York University
  • Judith Kroll director, Center for Language Science at Pennsylvania State University
  • Michael Ullman director of the Brain and Language Lab at Georgetown University; Professor in the Georgetown University Departments of Neuroscience and Linguistics
