The first time I heard the word “Dipsticks” I had no clue what the teacher was talking about (Like many other times) . Dipstick refers to ways to check for understanding on your student. In TESL 400 I learned about the KWL Chart, which stand for What do you know, what do you want to know, and what have you learned. I’ve seen teachers use this many time to check if the students understood the reading.
